Everest Base Camp Trek has been one of the most popular treks in the region for decades. The trek starts after landing at the Highland airport at Lukla. Last autumn 13 energetic trekkers from Denmark through our exclusive country partner Kipling Travel had one of the most memorable trekking expeditions to the high altitude Everest Base Camp. The trek to Everest Base Camp covers the outstanding Mountain peak views in nature, the unique Sherpa culture, spiritually sacred Monasteries and the history within the Himalayas. Their trek included the visit to Hillary Hospital at Khumjung.

The sightseeing tour at the Monastery at Pangboche was the part of the trek of the Danish team. Ama Dablam Base Camp was just a day hike from Pangboche. The Danish lineup made to Ama Dablam Base Camp 4576m on November 21. Mt. Ama Dablam 6812m is the third most popular Himalayan peak permitted to climb in Nepal. The trek had the camping arrangements at Gorakshep on November 25 after the climb to Kala Pattar. Gorakshep 5164m is considered to be the best launching pad to the ascent of Kala-pattar.

Gorakshep is also the better destination for altitude acclimatization before hitting the climbing mission to the mighty Everest. Kala-pattar 5550m offers the spectacular views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. The place is also popular amongst the trekkers for the Everest view webcam located here. Finally, on 26th the Danish squad was at the base of Himalayan King Everest. Since the camping at the Base Camp is not permitted, the Danish  trekkers made the early march to the base camp to spend maximum time there. After spending the abundant glorious time at Everest Base Camp 5357m, the descending journey began towards Lukla via Lobuche, Devoche and Tengboche.

Happy Explorers

Our itinerary was great. Not too much walking each day, so it allowed us time to explore each village at night. The trek was absolutely amazing, we loved every minute and wouldn’t change a thing!
