Trekking in Nepal, to the Everest Base Camp.

Landing at Lukla.

The world knows Mount Everest and that is the simple reason why Everest Base Camp trek so popular. Two Mexican trekkers Ms. Miguel and Ms. Manuel were on this spectacular trek with Explore Himalaya from 31st October to November 11 2012.

The first day of the trek started to Phakding along Dudh Koshi River, right after landing at Lukla Airport. Next day, of the trek took the Mexican ladies to the Sherpa capital Namche Bazaar.

After covering the long route from Namche, the large rebuilt Tyangboche Monastery comes into the view with Mt. Amadablam, Everest and other peaks on its background.Beyond Tyangboche the trial drops to Devoche and crosses Imja Khola. From there onwards on the 5th day of the trek Mexicans were led to higher altitude by the guide Sirdar Ashok Tamang past climbing superb mani stones to the Monastery of Pyangboche 3860m. The trial further ascends to Periche 4240m. The first acclimatization day on the second day of the trek at Namche was followed by the second acclimatization day at Periche.

After  a rest day, the trekkers passed Phalang Karpo 4340m and Duglha 4620m before they made to Lobuche 4930m. Next day the trek had an early start towards Gorakshep 5184m. The final destination was just before the eyes. It was only 173m ascending climb and the mighty Everest Base Camp would be achieved. On, November 8, on the 9th day of the trek the trekkers marched with the first sunrise to the Everest Base Camp 5357m. As per the itinerary, the Mexicans had enough time to spend at the base camp before they started their descending journey towards Gorakshep the same day. The trek down to Lukla continued with renowned Sherpa enterprises, breathtaking Himalayan beauties and Himalayan flora and fauna. On the 12th day of the trek, on November 11, the Mexican were back at Lukla.
