TIMS – Healing Nepal’s Economy

According to a report on English daily ‘The Himalayan Times’ Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN) have issued 16,787  Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card. TAAN  issued a total of 12,615 cards in April alone  collecting a total of Rs 13.716 million.  The collection from the TIMS card has helped in pushing up the country’s revenue collection.

Individual trekkers need to have Green TIMS cards by paying Nepali currency equivalent to $20 per person, while those trekking in groups need to have Blue TIMS cards by paying Nepali currency equivalent to $10 per person.
