It was very good. I really enjoyed it. It was beautiful; mountains were beautiful, people were beautiful. We had good weather and hence we could do all the passes. We went to different tops like Chhukung Ri, Kalapattar and Gokyo Ri. We were a lot high in the mountains and the experience was wonderful.
The trip to Bhutan was great! Excellent sights, hotels, food, weather, and our guide and driver were very professional and very good company. They looked very good for us!
Next time we should for sure stay longer, and if we plan a next tour to Bhutan we will contact you again.
We felt like a king and received very professional service from all staff during our trip. Lodges and food during the trek was good.
Best memory of the trip was helicopter ride to Everest. I would recommend fellow travelers to include the helicopter ride to Mt. Everest during their trip to Nepal.
Service of Explore Himalaya was excellent and faultless which I would rate with 5 stars. Kritee, my Tour Officer has been marvelous. She has made my tour seamless and taken responsibility for all arrangements.
The meeting and handling was very good and on time. We were provided lots useful tips about the Kathmandu and trek. During trek our trekking staffs were very helpful. Lodges were good with warm welcome every time. Itinerary was good and flexible and adapted to our needs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, good mix of seeing, appreciating and understanding the cultural and natural heritage of Tibet and a little of Nepal and the wonderful Landscapes and mountains. On the whole a magnificent trip! See pictures of Khangsung Trek in our blog
Good & hearty meals each day, more than what we expected! In Mustang the lodges were fairly good. Good price/ quality ratio. Good accommodation even in remote areas.
Our trek was great. We had good weather, great views of Everest on many days, a good guide and porter and a lot of fun.
On our return, both we and Explore were concerned as to whether we would be able to fly out and, thus, make our connecting flight to Europe. Weather at Lukla airport was, once again, changing all the time. Therefore, when we arrived back in Lukla at the end of the trek, Explore’s representative in Lukla and our guide offered to investigate whether we could get on a flight that afternoon, while the airport was still open.
We accepted the offer, they got us on a flight and were safely in Kathmandu, no longer worried about whether the airport would be open the next day. This all happened very quickly but, by the time we had landed, Explore had organized a guide to meet us at the airport and a hotel room in Kathmandu (Hotel Marshyangdi). Again, problem solved.
If you measure your tour operator by not only being able to organize a tour at a good value price but also on being able to solve any problems that occur then Explore Himalaya rate very highly.
Dolpo requires some extra logsistics and Pemba made all necessary arrangements. We also benefited. Both treks were wonderful! from having a local guide- Baba –in Mustang- as this is more of a cultural trek-his personal knowledge was useful. Meals were hot, plentiful, and tasty. Tea house food was consistent and good. Camping was successful-quick setup- cooking tents all functional. Service in lodges was friendly and welcoming. Local buses were fine. Flight to Juphal was on time and professional. Itinerary worked out-both guides modified trek a little for everyone’s benefit. Samundra was flexible and always available to answer question and explain trek details. Meeting were professional and on schedule. I’ve trekked with Explore Himalaya in the past and have always found them professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Many thanks to Sumundra for his extra help-phone calls- and all the arrangements – trek/ guides made on our behalf.
I traveled with you in Bhutan and Nepal. I have very warm memories and use the chance to thank you once again.
Wish you good luck and success!
Great trek, very well organized. Very interesting trek because of the geographical and cultural characteristics of Upper Dolpo. It is also quite challenging because of its length and remoteness. Having done a number of other treks in Nepal and elsewhere I decided to take up the challenge. Crossing Kang La was special. Support staff were faultless. They were very strong, experienced, helpful and know the area very well. See pictures and interview in our blog.
This is a note to thank you. Firstly though, allow me to apologise for the delay in getting thoughts and sentiments to paper. We have been back a number of weeks and life slowly drags you back into the quagmire of routine.
I was recently part of a group that spent time in Nepal – Kathmandu and the Himalaya primarily. (We were there in late April for three weeks) This was the first time that I have travelled to your beautiful country and our entire Nepal and Himalaya trip was truly spectacular!
I think for all first timers, Nepal and the majestic, challenging Himalaya – always are. What made the difference to our experience though was the quality of the people who guided and educated, welcomed and helped us – the family that looked after us whilst we were there. The more you spend time there, and allow the significance of your own experience to sink in the more powerful this realisation becomes. As you become able to accurately compare your support team to other groups on the trail – this degree to which the quality of your experience there is determined by your team becomes apparent.
We were truly blessed in this regard, and the quality of our experience, certainly mine (I do think I speak for us all though) – was off the charts, a special and unique, privileged time. The ground crew / Kathmandu crew at Explore Himalaya were competent, courteous, on time and wonderful. They bent over backwards when we changed schedules, and clucked and fussed around us to ensure we had a smooth time. They just made the cacophony and madness of Kathmandu, and logistics in Nepal in general a non-headache, which as I’m sure you know is a major thing.
They key factor however, that made our adventure truly special, unique and wonder-filled, was our guide, Da Yula Sherpa, and his team. He is a man amongst men, and with his brother and nephew – were the best team we could ever have hoped or imagined to have guide and look after us in the Himalaya. Da Yula’s preparation, experience and attention to detail made our experience wonderful. I don’t say this lightly – his attention to all details: – food, illness scenario’s, logistics on the mountain, accommodation, routes, comfort, security, every conceivable variable that could have been prepared for and thought about – was incredible and so thorough. Being with them made the adventure rich in detail – we learned SO MUCH from him about Nepal, the people, the culture, the mountains, he and his team were so much more than walking guides. They were anything but that – and the unit we formed up there was incredibly special. They made our trip, and I will recommend them and you; Explore Himalaya unreservedly to anyone venturing to Nepal.
Without your input and guidance, we would not have had this unique experience – it is much and seriously appreciated.

The meeting and handling was very good. Tour & trek guides and support staff were excellent. The hotels were also very good.
The guide and support staff were all nice and helpful. The transportation was good and safe. The furniture in Nuwakot could be better.
Excellent, everything went according to plan. The guide and support staff were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.
Kalsung, my guide was the best there could have been. She is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge on Tibet and was always very professional and helpful at all times. The driver was also very professional and when the vehicle broke down once he did a great job repairing it. Overall, I was very pleased with the trip. Will recommend to everyone.
The trek was beautiful but very had. Tour guide & staff were very professional, helpful and very friendly. We had a great cook (Meg Bahadur) and kitchen team. Meals were healthy and varied a lot. Camping sites were very good and chosen carefully. Camping equipments (tents etc) were excellent. The overland transfers were very good and the people were very helpful . The last four days in the Arun Valley (Balung, Phukuwa & Bamling) were difficult as the trail was quite old. But after we crossed the river, we picked up a better trail and everybody was happy again!
We would like to stress that Explore Himalaya is a very professional and well equipped organization. Along the way we met two other groups. They had to return before reaching Makalu, because of bad equipments (leaky tents) and badly equipped porters. With Explore Himalaya everything was excellent and because of them we were able to obtain our goal. Dhanyabaad!!
Apart from a small organizational difficulty on the way, we had a fantastic trek. The problem was, it was difficult to get a flight from Nepalgunj to Jumla. We had a wonderful guide, Sudan Tamang, and we enjoyed trekking with him very much. As we had lost two days waiting for the flight to Jumla, we had to make it up by walking farther each day. The first day was a bit difficult as it involved a long walk with a lot of climbing, but we managed it fine. From the second day onwards, the trek proved not too difficult.
Apart from a little bit of rain and snow on the first two days of the trek, the weather remained fine. Big blue sky, clear air and sunny during the day and as soon as the sun set it became very cold. Every morning there was frost on the ground. We camped at villages and sometimes in open fields. The scenery was beautiful and the people we met on the way were very friendly and warm. When we camped at a village, the family with whom our porters were staying, invited us to their home. We were offered some local wine chhang. We really enjoyed interacting with them. They were very warm and hospitable. Read trip report on our blog.
I have known this Explore Himalaya from long time back. I had heard about this company and knew that it was one of the most reputed and well- known companies. I chose Explore Himalaya for this expedition as I believe we will be looked after quite well and our expedition will run smoothly.
I got to know about your internet via internet. The guides and support staff were awesome. Our trek guide Lama was fun, knowledgeable, safe and supportive. Meg & Santos were great too. I couldn’t have done the trek without these guys!!The meals were good..definitely better than expected.Lodges were excellent with wonderful service. It was great to be welcomed to a lodge after a long day of trekking. Eco Resort(Kathmandu) was great.Usually quiet which is nice. The transportation was reliable. We had an excellent trek with the best guide ever!
–Suzy Lewis
Meg,Lama & Soros really made us feel like part of a family. They got us everything we needed and really helped us on our trek. We enjoyed every minute with them. The meals during the trek were basic but acceptable. It was nice to stay in lodges that had a private bathroom. Most of the lodge owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The itinerary was great- very flexible and totally dependant on what our group wanted orneeded to do.
–Melissa & Jonathan Chiotis Tamez
The meeting & handling was very good. Samundra was conscientious and ensured that we understood all details. Was always on time for meet & greet.Kumari answered our questions quickly & in good detail. Our guides were excellent. Da, Dendi & Karma were exceptional throughout the whole trek. They were very friendly, informative and made sure we were well looked after. Meals were ok considering the location. No one got sick, so quality was ok. The service at each lodge was good. All staff were friendly and helpful. All transportation was excellent and always on time. Please provide a better choice of hotel in Kathmandu so people can choose better ones if they want. For full lodge trek, I would put aside 1000-1500NRs for personal expenses per day (the odd drink, hot shower, tissues etc).
We got to know about your company from the internet. After arriving in Kathmandu, we were met at the airport and the handling and organization of the holiday was excellent. The guide and porter did an excellent job. They were very knowledgeable and polite. All meals were good. Except at Tadapani, everywhere else the accommodation was good. Our itinerary was very well planned and flexible where required. We enjoyed our holiday and would not hesitate to use Explore Himalaya again.
A very well organized trek. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Whenever we wanted something, Bagbir (the sirdar) answered ‘No problem,’ and really we never faced any problem.
I expected the trail to be uphill all the way, like in the Everest trek. You know, steep climbs, going up and up. But the trail on this trek had a lot of variety. It was different. We started from the foothills where there was a lot of greenery. As we got higher, the landscape changed. Also at the higher reaches there were some landslides, but we could make our way through it. There were some difficult parts but there also parts which were truly very beautiful and lovely. We will surely visit Nepal again! Check out Kanchenjunga trek report on our blog
Our Chitwan trip was a wonderful adventure! We had a great time. Thanks Samundra for all your help with our other needs as well—rides–hotels—etc. We’ll be sure to recommend “Explore Himalaya” to all our friends coming to Nepal.
–Rhonda Martin
I wanted to say “thank you” for arranging our excursion. All details were meticulously arranged by you and we felt very comfortable and quite enjoyed our “safari” vacation! Thanks again for everything. I will recommend your services for anyone that may be looking for an adventure in Nepal! Thanks again!
–Jeanne E. Praetsch
The meeting & handling was good. Kisan was polite & helpful. Gopal & the other guides were excellent, knowledgeable and helped us all through the trek.
–Neil Scott, UK
Our guides provided fantastic service. Gopal, as the leader was fantastic – very patient, courteous, obliging, organized and managed staff & trekkers well. His support guides were also excellent but needed appropriate clothing and footwear. Our itinerary was great. The trek was fabulous. Flexibility good. Appreciated efforts in getting out of “fogged in” Lukla. Explore Himalaya’s staff was very obliging.
–Creighton Donahue, Australia
The staff were very informative and punctual and explained what was happening. They were supportive and well informed. Service within lodges were excellent. Gopal, Shenka, Bharat and Saros – excellent service by all 4 guides! Sumandra was an excellent tour oprator and he deserved a great thank you!
–Shawn Levie, Jason Laioler, Stephen McFarlane, Michelle McDonald from Australia
The meeting & handling was excellent. We had Yalamber & Prabhakar with us at every step. The guides were excellent. The driver was very professional & experienced. The meals and services at lodges during the trek were very good. We had very warm welcome at the lodges. Though there was a problem with heating at Kongde, the service was excellent. Overall it was fantastic and we will be back!!
We were so pleased with our trek through Upper Mustang – thank you!
Greetings! Thank you very much for a great journey to Kailash. It was spiritually a very powerful trip for me.
The tour guide assigned to us was good. The camping service provided in Samari was OK and so were the hotel and transportation used.
–Peter Holm
The meeting and handling was very good. The tour guide and the support staff used were very good. The meals provided during the tour and in the hotels were very good. The hotel that we stayed in Kathmandu was “Hotel Marshyangdi”, which was very good, and in Samari, the tents were very fine but I suggest it would have been much better if a tent roof was provided to give shade. The itinerary was also very well designed.
–Mogens Engelund
The meeting and handling went very well. The meals during the tour and at the hotel were very well arranged. The tents used during the camping were well maintained. The hotel that we stayed in Kathmandu was nice. Bus used for the transportation was in good condition. The tour itinerary was very well designed because of which all my expectations were fulfilled.
The meeting and handling was very good. The tour guide assigned to us during the tour was very helpful. The camping services provided in Samari were Excellent.! The hotel that we stayed in Kathmandu was very good and well placed. Transportation used was very good for the Nepali roads.
The meeting and handling was very good. The staff was kindly and competent. The tour guide & support assigned to us were all very, very good. They did whatever they could to make our stay pleasant .The meals were OK. Gopal is doing a good job! Transportation was also very good as we had very competent drivers.
I am not the type of person that would usually take a trip from Beijing to Kathmandu by land. I had no idea what international travel was like or how difficult it can be gaining entry into Tibet. In fact I still don’t because Explore Himalaya made it easy for me. My Chinese tour guide Andy Chen successfully got me a soft sleeper unit on the train. I was the only non-Chinese person to get one and it made a huge difference from what I saw. The train ride was absolutely beautiful and it is definitely worth doing once it’s also very long and I am not sure I would want to do it again but I am very glad I did it this time.
Hi All, I just wanted to follow up and say thank you to all who helped with our wonderful trip. It is a life event that Carol and I am glad we had the opportunity to partake in.
Kudos to Explore Himalaya! You have made this trek a memory for a lifetime for us. We will never forget any moment of this trek. We promise to come back to us whenever we go on any trek in future as we do not want to look for any other travel companies in Nepal simply because they will not be anyway close to you with regards to efficiency. To handle a group of young lads from India that too 9 in number was some task…but that is what we thought. For you it was a job well done. Guys, The Final Dinner with Mr. Navin, Mr. Prabhakar and Mr. Samundra spoke a lot about the relation that we will be sharing after this trek. It was a pleasure to trek under your itinerary and the support staff that you have simply rocksss! All in all, its a start of a wonderful relation all 9 of us will share with Explore Himalaya.
Everything was very well organized and were well informed about meeting points and who we were to get lifts with. Dhan Kumar Rana was a fantastic guide! We had so much fun with him and he took us to places we wouldn’t have visited if we had trekked alone. Our porter was also great, friendly and did a brilliant job of carrying our bag. We were amazed at the variety of meals available each day. All the lodges were comfortable and very welcoming. Even though it was off-season , the lodges still provided the best food possible and created a welcoming atmosphere. Our jeep ride to Besisahar was a great start to the trip. The two flights from Jomsom to Kathmandu were amazing and a great finish to the trip. Our itinerary was great. Not too much walking each day, so it allowed us time to explore each village at night. The trek was absolutely amazing, we loved every minute and wouldn’t change a thing!
The trip was so good and the agent in Nepal very efficient. We had a very good driver and guide for our overland tour in Tibet. Everything was well arranged and we saw so many beautiful places!
“The meeting and handling was excellent and so were the guides and support staff. I would have liked another few days!” Caroline Biggs

“The meeting & handling went smoothly. The guides and support staff were excellent!” Stephen Owen
“The guides and support staff were excellent! I would recommend an explanation to the group of the day’s trekking each morning.” Victoria Marsh
“Guides and porters were excellent and made the trip very enjoyable. The meals during the trek were mostly good except when western style food was served. Preferred Nepalese food to western! Alex Halligan
“The guides were excellent and transportation was very good. Strongly recommend the trip…”Graham Hill
Thanks to Lambabu and his excellent professionalism, we have completed our trekking trip as per the plan. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for choosing Lambabu as our guide.
Lambabu has been the best guide we could ever dream of having – his organizational skills and knowledge of the region were beyond reproach. He was always polite, honest, and so pleasant. We really enjoyed his company, as well as the two crews – who were also as pleasant and helpful as Lambabu. Lambabu chose the best porters/assistants as we could imagine of having, and the way he dealt with them were also very nice and we really liked it. It is also worth noting that he paid attention to our health throughout the trek, and despite the fact that two of us got mild altitude sickness, with his advice and timely medication, we all managed to trek in good health and spirits. Lambabu was also attentive to our demands – such as the need for decent toilets and accomodation. We are sure that it was not always easy.
All in all, we are all very happy about the trekking trip we had – it was once in a life-time experience for sure. Thank you so much for organizing this trip for us!
We hope to go for another trekking trip in future with your company, and hopefully once again with Lambabu and his crews.
The meeting and handling was very good and efficient. The hotels were all very good and the transportation was fine. Samir was very helpful and friendly.
I got to know about your company through Google. The airport meeting and handling was very good. All the tour & trek guides and support staff were very friendly and professional. Meals during the trek were good and always enough! The transportation was very good.
I got to know about your company while browsing the internet. The meeting and handling was great. The guides and support staff were excellent. Meals and services during the trek and in hotels were great. Keep shining!
We got to know about your company while browsing the internet and through the Lonely Planet Guide. The meeting and handling was excellent. All the staff were very helpful. Our guide Lamababu was exceptional, very experienced, friendly and professional. Our Porter Mangal was also very friendly and helpful. Meals and tea houses were all better then expected. Camping service was also very good. The lodges were all very nice , particularly on the Gokyo side. Itinerary was good, having enough flexibility to accommodate illness and to suit individual needs. Keep up the good work!
The meeting and handling was well organized. The guides and support staff were all friendly. Meals during the trek were plentiful and delicious, nice variety. The hotels were clean and were situated at very good locations. The transportation was fairly comfortable.
There was excellent preparation before the trek. Samundra went over and beyond what we expected from him, and we really appreciate his excellent service. During the trek, the service was excellent. Food was very good. We appreciated that the cook tried to vary the menu for us, but we would have liked more traditional meals. Transport was great and it was fantastic to be accompanied by people from your staff. International Guesthouse is to be recommended. We also recommend the itinerary that we did, Phaplu- mera – Lukla. Our only suggestion is to add an extra day while trekking from Khare to High Camp, as there is too much of an increase in altitude. Otherwise every other day was of reasonable length.
Yalamber was fantastic. Our trek & Tour guides and support staff were all very good. We very much appreciate your efforts in getting us out of Lukla on an early flight. Meals during the trek were excellent, considering the remoteness. Dingboche was fantastic. We suggest you to encourage trekkers to take an extra day to visit. We also suggest you use Family Hotel there – very nice.
The meeting and handling was brilliant. The service of supporting staff was 5 star. The transportation was perfect and our itinerary was informative. Thank you to everyone who helped after I got rescued. I was treated like a King!
Bharat our trek guide, is an exceptionally nice individual and very supportive, kind and experienced. The porters were also brilliant. During the trek, meals were generally good. Hotel Marshyangdi in Kathmandu had great service. Overall we had an amazing experience. We highly recommend this to anyone else in UK seeking a similar experience.
Very professional, clear instructions & on time – we were all very satisfied with the entire crew and had a wonderful time. Service was excellent everywhere and the quality of food varied. We had good drivers managing very difficult roads. Thanks for a wonderful experience in Nepal!
The meeting and handling was nice. Our trek guide Lamababu took very good care of us and our children’s needs. Among the meals we liked Dal Bhaat best. We would like to suggest that all tourism agencies should work together to manage the thrash in the mountains.
We got to hear about your company from Google. Samundra was especially nice and patient with us. We were very sleep deprived upon arrival in Kathmandu from the US and he took his time explaining our schedule to us. The trek was awesome. Bhim and the porters we were very nice. We felt like we were in good hands. It is nice to hear they work together as a team for many treks. They are a good group. Meals during the trek were delicious and copious. The cook did a good job of keeping us fed. Camping service was good. We slept comfortably and were warm in the snow. The tent was spacious and comfortable. The hotels were good and always clean. The itinerary was nice, in that we got to see and experience many different types of climate during the trek, i.e., rainforests to mountain passes to villages.
The trek guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. The hotels we stayed in were strategically located. The hotel’s staff were all friendly and helpful. Generally we are satisfied. Explore Himalaya’s staff were all responsible and friendly. Good!
We came to know about your company through articles on books and magazines. Once we reached Nepal, the airport pickup was good. Our itinerary was flexible – it suited our needs. The service at the lodges during the entire trek was good. Our porter Dan Bahadur was excellent and we would recommend him again.
It was nice to be met at the airport and taken to our hotel, and have arrangements confirmed and in place prior to our trek. Also, it was good to meet our guide before hand, on that morning. Our guide Maule was a really nice guy and I cannot speak highly enough of his help and assistance he provided both during my initial sickness and during the trek itself. My porter was a great help, as was the other one when he helped me on occasions. The meals during the trek were excellent, bearing in mind Maule had suggested I keep to plain foods- to assist with my previous experiences and I felt this worked well, as I did not experience any further associated problems. I felt the staff did their best to provide good service- even the higher in altitude we went- and I must say, were extremely friendly and courteous.
We came to know about your company through the internet. Being collected from the airport made things easy. Briefing at the hotel was very detailed and efficient. Our guide, Sanu , was very polite and professional and had good knowledge of the areas travelled. Meals on the trek were incredible and varied. The cook/chef was simply outstanding. Breakfasts at hotel in Kathmandu were very good. During the trek, we camped in tents. Every day the tent was set up for us, cleaned out and sleeping mats put in place.Dining tent was also supplied for meals. Nice detail having candle lit dinners! We stayed in one mountain hotel during pouring rain and Sanu organized it very easily. Hotel was clean and basic. Bus transport was good. Drivers wee sensible in heavy traffic and there were no problems. Our itinerary was well planned. Everything ran on time and was easy to follow. Suggestion – maybe a name tag for clients and staff so they can get to know each others names more quickly.
I got to know about your company through the internet. The service was good and without problems. Kishan was very helpful and tended to all my requests and needs. Som, our trek guide, was excellent. Did his best possible and the result was excellent service.
Thank you very much for the great support during our trek and more importantly your help after our return to Kathmandu. We had a great guide, Tiger (Bagbir), and porter. They both were very supportive during the entire trek. Tiger was very aware of our condition and health and made sure we stayed within our comfort zone. Your support staff in Kathmandu was great, what else can I say? Although we had some communication issues (mostly on my part), Kisan was always there to offer support. Thanks again!!!!!!
The airport and hotel transfers were excellent, as was our itinerary. Our guide in Tibet was excellent in the monasteries and towns. The driver and the condition of the vehicle was excellent.
The meeting and handling was good. Trek & tour guides as well as the support staff were quite good. At Sarangkot the view was excellent but the hotel could have been better.
The meeting and handling was excellent. Our guide was fantastic, the best. The services at the lodges as well as meals during the trek were very good. The service of the support staff was excellent.
All went really well. Explore Himalaya’s staff listened to what we wanted from our trek and discussed what they could offer. Compared to what we are used to, the services provided by the company, from the Finnish point of view felt like luxury. During our trip all went well and everything worked. Absolutely nothing to complain of!
Trekking in Mustang from Jomsom to Lo Manthang and back was exceptional. We stayed at Fishtail Lodge in Pokhara .It was very good. We can only recommend a stay there. Likewise for Soaltee in Kathmandu. We had flights to Pokara and Jomsom and this is really to be recommended to save time and for flexibility. During the trek meals were well prepared. We had not a single problem with Lhakpa’s (cook) service. Pasang our trek guide is highly recommended. He takes care of everything and has a great part on the success of the trek. His young team was just fantastic. We look forward to do another trek with this team.

Namaste Kumari and Kisan!
I would like to say thank you for all of the time and effort that you gave to make our recent trip such a wonderful adventure. Gina Lee and I were thrilled with how smoothly everything went. We saw and learned much, and we marveled at the natural beauty of the places we visited. Thanks again and best wishes.
It was a Great Trip! I had a good tour guide and the itinerary was excellent. The overland drive was comfortable as the vehicle’s condition as well as the driver was excellent.
Our guide was exceptional. His knowledge of the region, the people and their culture was excellent. And our porter was always very helpful and cheerful. We also felt very safe with Phul, our guide, as his knowledge of AMS was very good. Although very basic, our meals and accommodation, during the trek were fine. The service was always friendly and accommodating. The transportation was good and our itinerary excellent.
.. with Pumo Ri behind us and Mt. Everest in front, Roy proposed! We’re the happiest couple in the Himalayas, we’re engaged and can’t stop grinning!

We had a wonderful journey through the Himalayas. Our trip was to fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa and then journey overland in a 4×4 back to Kathmandu. The truth is that the organization was perfect at all times. We were picked up from the airport in Kathmandu and taken to the recommended hotel, Nirvana Garden, conveniently located in Thamel and well equipped, with a superior breakfast and very good service.Your agent in Tibet was very good. They took very good care of us. Our guide Khalsa, was very attentive and was very professional at all times. She never hurried us and give us enough time to explore the sites we visited. Her explanations on all the monasteries and stupas we visited, were very good JUST WANTED TO CONGRATULATE EXPLORE HIMALAYA AGENCY FOR YOUR PROFESSIONALISM.

My trip to the ‘roof of the world’ was a great adventure – right from the mysterious Potala Palace in Lhasa to the Everest Base Camp. Some of the hotels were so-so, but that was made quite clear from the start. The guide and the driver cannot be recommended enough. They did their best to make my travel as interesting and joyful as possible. All went well – all deals kept! I will recommend the trip to all my friends back home.
The meeting and handling was quite satisfactory. The guide for city tour was quite nice and competent. I would suggest a choice to go down to Tingri if one feels uncomfortable to stay at Rongbuk.
I came to know about your company through the internet and Lonely Planet. The services of the guides and supporting staff was excellent. They were always helpful, friendly, flexible and punctual. Camping service during the trek was very good. We had a positive experience.
Our trek guide (Maule Tamang) was very informative and knowledgeable of the area and rather amusing company. The services in lodges during the trek were better than expected – very clean (except some toilets), friendly & hospitable staff with very good English. The meals during the trek were amazing. Good ‘dal-bhat’ even right at the top! Lukla airport landing was very memorable. Our itinerary was very good and well planned, but allow extra time in Kala Patthar and perhaps a rest day in higher altitude. Very happy with the selection of hotel in Kathmandu- good location, clean and peaceful.
The meeting and handling was super. Maule our trek guide is a good guy. He knows a lot about the area and he is very friendly. Services at lodges during the trek was perfect.
The support staff were very helpful. Sudham and Lakpa were by far the best guide and porter we have come across on the trek. They really made my trek something to remember.
The Nepalese people are extremely friendly and welcoming. Our trek guide and support staff were great. The hotels and lodges that we stayed in were quite hospitable. Yak & yeti was awesome. Nice that they had boxed breakfast for us the day we left to go trekking. Also thank you for putting us in the upgraded rooms on our return. Transportation was great – on time and waiting for us at pick up and drop off points! We shared good communication with Natang (trek guide) and the sherpas as well as with Explore Himalaya staff.
Overall we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and experience with Explore Himalaya. Very friendly staff. Samundra was very attentive and helpful. The trek was outstanding We felt well looked after and had fun and laughter. Nawang and Rinzin were so great. The food in Nepal has been very good. We have had some very tasty meals. The lodges we stayed in were quite good. It has been interesting to see how meals are prepared and how family life works. The country and views have been incredible.
Thank you to everyone at Explore Himalaya for a fabulous holiday and experience!! Jonathon and I had an amazing time and part of that is because you had everything well organised for us, a superb travel itinerary and most of all very friendly staff. Thanks again. We’ll be contacting you again when we decide to trek Everest Base Camp.
Your company provides a high degree of expertise and service. Your staff are very reliable and service-minded and your Tibetan agent match your level well. We will recommend your company and your Tibetan agent to friends and business associates!
The meeting and handling went perfectly. Our guide and sherpas were excellent. During the trek, the meals as well as the lodges we stayed in were fine. In Kathmandu we were accommodated the hotels we stayed in were quite good.
We were quite impressed with the meeting & handling. Very professional! The trek was very good. Our guide and porter (Ang Kitar & Gopal) were very gentle, good spirited and very helpful. They will provide good support during difficult treks! The camping service was variable but as expected. Our guide was excellent in providing the best possible service from lodges. We knew the standards are limited on such a trek, but they were better than expected. It seems as if our guide picked the best available accommodation. Good support on tickets too. Very good handling from our guide when we came a day earlier to Pokhara from Jomsom, when flights were full.
This is probably for the Nepalese Tourism Ministry. We would like to tell them that its important that trails are maintained. But building roads on the Annapurna circuit would discourage trekkers. No trekker will like to walk on the road with cars!!
The airport and hotel transfer was excellent. Our tour guide was excellent. We had a very good driver, but we would like suggest not to use a bus in Tibet.
The meeting and handling was excellent. Everything worked! Good tents and facilities (dining & toilet tents). For young mountaineers I suggest an extra day/camp between Kyangjin Gompa and High Camp, some where around 4,400m.
We got to know about Explore Himalaya while browsing the travel sites on the internet. We had a very nice welcome with floral garland and a nice car. Our trek was excellent, well set-up, good acclimatization programme. Guide and porter were both exceptional – top marks to both! Quality of food & hotels was good, surpassed our expectations. Food was always well prepared and hygienic (supervised by guide always).Good service in lodges, all made an extra special effort to provide good service which was nice to know. Our itinerary was very good and excellent, never too much or too little. We had plenty of time to acclimatize. So we always felt good and safe. Overall we had an amazing time, made by your exceptional staff who looked after us all the way.
The meeting and handling was good. Mr. Kishan has been very helpful, good-natured and soft spoken. The itinerary was well planned. We would have liked the guide to give us enough information about the alternative lodges available during the trek. In Pheriche and Namche, we upgraded to different lodges and it was a much better experience.
I got to know about your company via Google. This trip was satisfying. The meeting and handling was excellent. I am very happy with guide Bharat. The itinerary was very good, not too exerting and I enjoyed it. Great arrangement! Looking forward to make many more trips to Nepal through Explore Himalaya!
We heard about your company online. We are very happy with Explore Himalaya and its staff members. We had lost a bag and they helped us find it. All were very kind, especially Nirgaman and Bharat – they made our trip more enjoyable. The only suggestion I would like to give is give trekkers different options about where to eat and sleep during the trek. If it is more expensive we can decide to pay the difference.
I came to know about your company online. When I reached Kathmandu, I was greeted on time and very warmly by Nirgaman. Especially arriving so late at night and being a female alone I was a bit concerned but I had nothing to worry about.. I was taken care of.
The trek went very well I felt very comfortable with Maya, my female guide. She was very friendly and took better care of me. The service at the lodges was good except maybe I would have paid more for a nicer shower. My guide in Pokhara wasn’t very good. My tour guide for Kathmandu was excellent. Nirgaman was very, very helpful to me and went out of his way to help me when I was sick. His service was outstanding. All of your staff should take after him. I enjoyed my trip very much and would use this company and recommend it again. Thank you!!
The meeting and handling went very fine – friendly and easy. We were very satisfied with our guide and porter. The trek was very nice and provided us with many great views and memories to look back at.
The staff have been friendly and always came on time when they were supposed to meet us or pick up up. The service of the supporting staff was excellent. It has been nice to travel with Explore Himalaya. We are especially very satisfied with our guide on the trek Lama Babu and Prem who carried our bags. They have been really helpful and friendly to us.
The tour guides and support staff were efficient, friendly, flexible and very helpful. Good service from Nirgaman! The meals were very good-adjusted to European stomachs and taste. Royal beach was excellent and relaxing, Chitwan jungle lodge had excellent service and the idea about a home stay (in Nuwakot) was charming indeed. The hotels in Kathmandu & Pokhara had very good services and facilities. The transportation was very good and worked precisely. Our itinerary worked very well. We saw what we wanted…the guides helped getting the most out of the places.
Keep going the way you do! Your agent and guides were excellent. The guides in Pokhara and in Kathmandu were absolute first class!
We were recieved at the airport by stylish guide Nirgaman, who was very welcoming. Office staff were all very helpful and friendly. The porters were respectful & kind. Maule’s (trek guide) service was above expectations. He was very caring about our health and well being.. it was a pleasure to be guided by Maule. He is an asset to your company! The meals were basic but satisfactory. The transportation was excellent and punctual and we did not have to wait. Our itinerary was well planned and flexible. We had an amazing experience, an absolutely brilliant adventure. The best thing was the walking in the beautiful scenery and nice places to stop for lunch and coffee. The porters and our guide really made the experience so good. We would use your company again and would recommend to other people.
The meeting and handling was good. Our trek guide was very good, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a very nice trek. People around were very helpful and realistic about the trip. Happy indeed!
The meeting and handling was very good. The hotels that we stayed in at Kathmandu (Malla Hotel), Pokhara (Fishtail Lodge) and Chitwan (Chitwan Adventure Lodge) were all very good.
The meeting and handling was excellent by Samir Shrestha. Our itinerary was as we wanted it though there were strike at the beginning. The service of the supporting staff was good. We stayed in fine hotels and the meals were normally very good. We had no problem with transportation as the drivers were very good. We are very pleased!
We have had a good experience with Explore Himalaya and will use your service again if we visit Nepal / Tibet.
The service of the supporting staff was excellent. Great resourcefulness when met during strike and failure of electricity. Tourist bus and rickshaw ensured my safe arrival at the hotel. My trek guide was Bharat Rana. Without his skill and knowledge I would not have completed the trek. His local knowledge of flora and fauna made the trek fascinating. The food was simple and sustaining, the lodges always welcoming. Hotel Shanker at Kathmandu was very comfortable. I have nothing more to add except to say its one of the most beautiful treks I have taken!
NB: The porter Pemba Tamang showed potential. He has natural politeness, kindness and intelligence. I began to teach him to read. Can the Porters Association help? I am sure High Places and I would help.
I have returned safely to my home in New Zealand and although immediately swept back into my Consulting to the Dairy Industry …world … I wanted to write to Thank you and your team for a very positive and enlightening trek to Yala Peak.
Despite my last minute change in schedule your team responded positively to organize a well run and very enjoyable trip for me. I was especially impressed by the care, consideration and leadership / climbing skills of Dayula Sherpa. Despite my lack of practical climbing experience and equipment – he rapidly organized our equipment purchases / rentals , later in the Base Camp showed me the required techniques and lead us up the mountain in the dark and through terrain challenging to me at a measured pace suited to my level of skill and fitness. Our daily treks went flawlessly – good choices of Guest houses – great relations with the owners and staff of the Guest houses / and our team of 2 porters and cook … fine attention to my well being – meals, accommodation, health and a great companion as we walked and climbed for 9 day. With his company I felt (and was) safe even in potentially dangerous environment.
Like the rest of the team, he modified his trekking plan and even our return timing to suit my changing ideas and never complained or made a problem – supporting my efforts and enabling me to travel efficiently and safely at all times. I strongly commend him to you as an excellent Guide and very capable personable member of your team. Should you have the need to refer future potential trekking groups to me for references for Dayula Sherpa – please do so.
I look forward to working with your team on future treks when I am able to return to Nepal – perhaps as September 2010 with my wife.
All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They accommodated all requests to the best of their ability. The trek was a good level of difficulty for our students. Meals have been excellent, especially on the trek. Porters were extremely polite and helpful. Service was very good. Barahi Hotel in Pokhara was very nice and in a convenient location. Royal Singi in Kathmandu was nice but location was not convenient. The itinerary was generally good.
We were very pleased with the trip, primarily because the guide was very friendly and helpful. He handled the logistics quite well. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and the culture.
It has been a very exciting tour. A very professional guide and porter and professional handling by the agency. We had no complaints. Thank you very much!
The guide and drivers were very attentive and looked after us very well.
We are fully satisfied with the support and service we have received. Baghman was very good, helpful and informative about the local areas we passed.he gave very good advice about trek and change of route plan according to our condition and time. We highly recommend him! The hotels were good. The porters were also very good.
I have had a very good time. The service of the staff was excellent. Bharat, our guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The meals were superb and the hotels were great. We will definitely use the services of Explore Himalaya again.
Overall very good trip… We have had a wonderful time in Nepal. The service of the staff was very good. The meals were okay, but we would perhaps have preferred to have some more Nepali style food rather than western style. The transportation was very good clean and safe.
The itinerary was well thought out. The porters and guide were excellent and very helpful. Our guide Baghbir was very knowledgeable, friendly and very experienced. The meals provided were wonderful. We could not have asked for more. The lodges were of a good variety and standard. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful time!
All in all a first class trek – all the members were very happy!
The service of the staff was excellent. The lodges in Bardia and Pokhara were excellent, and their staffs also, especially in Bardia (very, very good). Hotel Dwarika in Kathmandu is a very good hotel. Our trip in Kathmandu and Bardia has been excellent. Only Pokhara was not as good as we expected, but we had a very good time, so its sure we are going to recommend this trip to our friends!
Our guide was very helpful and took very good care of us. He helped us in all matters. So also the driver… we can recommend them for other tours.
Overall thanks for the unforgettable experience. We hope to be back soon!
We had a very good experience. Everything was well planned. Our guide Namgyal Sherpa was very experienced and helpful!
Thanks for making our holiday to Nepal, China and Tibet and exploring the Himalaya region a success. We thank you for all the arrangements along the way and commend you on your making sure we were comfortable and that bookings were selected well by you along the route. Everything we asked for or needed was arranged and there were no hic ups. Last minute hitches were sorted out and it was good. We had a really good holiday, with only a little altitude sickness and no sickness from food, so we were happy with that. Our Guides were good, some a little difficult for us to understand their accent but we had fun with them. Thank you again, and keep up the good work.
We had a fantastic time and that the valley you recommended that we go into was brilliant. The views and the remoteness were absolutely beautiful. I got to the top of the peak you climbed before with Pasang, Jo’s stomach stopped her going above 5500m. We were well cared for and the food was really good. In particular we felt that Kusang will make a really good sirdar as well as being an excellent cook.
Being back for two weeks in Belgium, after another splendid Himalaya trek in Nepal. I wanted to thank you for the great job you have done, in the difficult days in the beginning of October. The Tsum trekking was great, but still we are thinking what it would have been like up there in Dolpo. After reading so many books about the Cristal mountain and his surroundings we are still hoping to get there once… I prefer May 2011 for the new Dolpo trekking.
I would like to thank you for everything. I had a great time biking in Bhutan. Sankten tours was excellent too and Basant too. Thanks again.
I want to say thank you for the trip! Everything was exactly on time and I didn’t have to wait. Next time when I will come to Nepal I will approach your firm. And will tell my friends about you.
We came to know about your company from a friend. Our guide Tsering was an incredible resource and a fantastic guide. I would definitely recommend your company’s trip and our guide to others. This was a trip of a lifetime!
We have enjoyed our trip! Our tour guide was excellent. The driver and the Tibetan agents were also excellent. But we didn’t like the hotel and hotel personnel in Tingri.
Our tour guides and drivers in Lhasa and the rest of Tibet did an excellent job. They were friendly, knowledgeable, good humored and we had a feeling that they did their best to make it a very good trip!
A very great experience. Explore Himalaya’s staff were very professional and helpful at all times. Our Trek guide was excellent and very professional. They gave good instructions which led to successful climbing. Our itinerary was perfect. We felt secure at all times. The camping services as well as the services in lodges were very good. We recommend Maule and Bimba Tamang .Thank you for making this trip so special!
Everything was good and satisfactory!
Overall we had a great trip with great staff and felt that we experienced the Himalayas and Nepal to the utmost. Maule Tamang was an exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and fantastic guide. All meals were good especially at low and high base camp. Ongchu is a wonderful chef! All tea houses were great. Camping services were even better. They kept us well fed and warm. Yalamber helped us greatly in Kathmandu and with arranging all our transport. The only thing I would change is to have more choice in hotels and whether or not to stay in and tour Kathmandu before trekking. The hotels were satisfactory, but if we had known we would have preferred to pay more to stay in 4 or 5 star hotels such as the Hyatt. We would recommend allowing for choice in hotels in the future.
Very good help upon arrival at the airport. but it would be good to mention that foreign cash is required for the visa at the airport. The service of the supporting staff was excellent. Our trek guide Nima was wonderful. His experience and knowledge has given a lot of value to our trip. Moreover friendship and politeness from porters (Temba, Dil Kumar and Arjun) have been appreciated and wonderful. The meals were excellent. We have managed to discover new meals (momo, noodles soup, nepali tea). This helped to discover more about Nepali culture. Just one suggestion for the city tour maybe include something else then temples.
We have had an excellent trip to Nepal. Explore Himalaya have been very good in ensuring everything has worked out smoothly. Yalamber has been very helpful and friendly when in Kathmandu, and Bharat was an excellent guide during our trek.
I came to know to know about Explore Himalaya from the internet. Tibet was incredible. Most friendly people and a perfect tourism! Climbing Lhakpa Ri was a special experience… See Lhakpa Ri Photos and trip report here.
I came to know about Explore Himalaya from a newspaper article on “San Francisco Chronicle”. Overall it was a great trip. I was well taken care of in Beijing both in arrival and departure. My dealings with the representatives in Kathmandu was absolutely excellent. The tour guide in Tibet should have known and talked more about Tibet today not politics of course, but how they live, what they grow and life in general.”
The airport and hotel transfer was excellent. The service at the hotel was good. The tour guide was ok. While the driver and the vehicle were excellent.
We found operation officer Yalamber very helpful, professional, informative and very sympathetic.
We came to know about Explore Himalaya through the website. Explore Himalaya was excellent. The Tibetan guide, Penba Puchi, and driver were also excellent. We really appreciated their assistance at the Shigatse Army Hospital for the 36 hrs we were there, especially our guide’s Chinese language skills. We could not have done without her. Tibetan agent was also great.
We came to know about Explore Himalaya through Google. We had an absolutely fantastic trip! This was a trip of a lifetime and we are so grateful that your wonderful staff was able to give us this incredible adventure.
Good trip and we thank you for solving problems. Despite bad weather, we managed to get to Lukla by helicopter. We think the drive from Nuwakot to Chitwan was very long. We got on a plane back to Kathmandu, which was nice. Thank you for arranging the flight from Chitwan to Kathmandu.
The airport meeting and handling was very professional and on time. The guide Sudhan was very knowledgeable and supplied a lot of information. He suggested and took me on side treks as I wished and went above and beyond his duties. The meals were great. My guide and porter always made sure I had a nice room and single comfortable lodging. The service was always good. The hotels were nice. They even supplied extra blankets I requested. The itinerary was well planned and I liked how it was also flexible depending on my desires. I really enjoyed this trek, especially thanks to Explore Himalaya and their staff for making a stress free trek. I would recommend them to friends.
All was ok. Our trek guide was good and pleasant. Pumori Lodge in Namche was so quite and had kindly people.
The meeting and handling was efficient. The services of the supporting staff was excellent. The meals were fine but could be given a lift in variation. The hotels and transportation was also good.
The airport and hotel transfer was excellent. The tour guide’s language and guiding proficiency was also excellent. The service at the hotel was good. We had an excellent and unusually good weather during our Kailash kora, Rongbuk and Lhasa visit.
Our trek to Everest Base Camp was really amazing, and that we were doing it for a special cause made this trip extra special. Nature and natural beauty in Nepal is really wonderful.
The meeting and handling was excellent. The support team showed great flexibility while improvising the itinerary. Hotel Dwarikas was excellent (service, food and accommodation) while Shangri-La was good (the food was not as varied as Dwarikas).
We find it very important that our travelling contributes to the preservation of Nepal’s fragile and beautiful nature. We encourage Kipling Travels and Explore Himalaya to start working with different tea-houses / lodges and hotels on sustainability initiatives- like waste recycling, solar heating etc. Many tourists would be willing to pay more to be sure that accommodation and transport do not harm the environment or add to global warming.
Impeccable service in Kathmandu, even when we changed plans at the last minute. Our every need was accommodated. Similar service in Pokhara. Bharat, our trek guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were looked after very well at each stop with great service. Even when I walked slowly I never felt rushed. The hotels we stayed in appeared to be the best choice in each town. Staff in hotels were friendly. We were happy with the itinerary and appreciated Yalamber’s help. Overall a great service. We will recommend Explore Himalaya to others. Thank you for a great experience!
Our guide Lama Babu was excellent. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Yalamber was also excellent. We would strongly recommend Explore Himalaya to our friends!
Excellent Pickup, no waiting. KP was very professional. Maya was very nice and knowledgeable. She was definitely professional and helped me with anything. Porter was also fantastic. Tour Guide was very personable. Overall, excellent service. Highlight was eating at “local” Tibetan restaurants!
Very impressed with the service of Explore Himalaya. Would recommend friend and associates.
I just want to say on behalf of the four of us, what a great trip to Nepal we had all of the arrangements went really smoothly, all the organisation was spot on it was great to see Kathmandu, and we enjoyed seeing the temples with our guide and the main trek with Sudhan and his team was brilliant – though hard work of course!
Sudhan’s organisation and leadership was really excellent – he had everything worked out with cooking, transport, timings, and motivation of his team. He had chosen them well, and they really respected him – impressive for his young age – I think probably because he got stuck in helping them when necessary, and his sense of humour also helped. He was always polite and patient with us, and his estimation of how much walking we could cope with was exactly right each day. His attention to detail was fantastic, and his English was really good which I think made a big difference. We mixed with some other groups during our three weeks and we could compare with him their sirdar and porters, and there was no doubt that ours was the most professional and the best leader.
So thank you for everything, and we hope you continue to use Sudhan and his team for future treks like ours – or move him up to the next management level!
thanks!!
I have just returned to Denmark from an fantastic trekking tour to Annapurna and I am very grateful to the team from Explore Himalaya, the porters and the guides, thanks to all not at least the guides who were very professional, helpful and kind.
The meeting and handling and service of the supporting staff was perfect. The trek guide was very active and good.
It has been a great trip and we have enjoyed staying in your beautiful country…Our trek guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant company. The cook was great and he served superb meals. In Kathmandu we stayed at Hotel Vajra. It was pleasant but the service was poor. All other hotels that we stayed in were fine with nice and helpful staff.
The meeting and handling was excellent. The service of supporting staff was very helpful. The guide was experienced, knowledgeable, open and very helpful. The people were friendly and I had no problem with the transportation. All in all a nice trip to Nepal. Thanks to a great guide and a supportive staff!
Our tour guides were quite good.We had an excellent driver in Mr.Jeet.He was very helpful and kind. We had a great trip.
The meeting and hotel transfer was excellent. The service at the hotel was good. Guiding proficiency of the tour guide was excellent.Your Tibetan agents, the service of driver and the vehicle’s condition were also excellent.
The meeting and handling and services of the supporting staff were very good. We had a very friendly and well-organized trek guide (Moule Tamang) who looked after us and the porters well. The camping services were very good but a lighter table would be good for the porters. Dhana was an excellent and friendly kitchen assistant and porter. The transportation was very good. Our itinerary was suitably flexible.
I am 39 years old and I have been skydiving since I was 17. I trained to be a nurse but became a pilot. I have been working, competing, filming and doing stunts in skydiving. I have competed in different disciplines like flying on belly, flying making formations and flying with wings. I have been working as a director of aerial photography since 1988.This is my first visit to Nepal and my first trek too. This is also my first skydive from 29,500ft., my most exciting till now.
I think Nepal has a humble and rich environment and Everest is stunning I’ll be coming back in May.
I have been jumping from 12,000ft- 13,000ft from sea level mostly in Headcorn, UK by paying £25. I’ve jumped 365 times. It is amazing to be at 12,0000ft. and then fly to 29,500ft. to skydive. This is my first visit and trek to Nepal. This was a very special visit, though I would say a bit expensive and I am taking back excellent memories.
Lou is 60 years old while his son Scott is 40. Both did tandem jumps. Lou has done 38 jumps while Scott has done over 150 times. They are the only father and son duo to make tandem jumps from a height of 29,500ft.
The feeling was out of this world when we skydived from the height of Everest
We are a family consisting of 2 adults and 2 children of 10 and 16 years.
The service of Explore Himalaya in Kathmandu and Pokhara and on the trek was excellent. The staff of Explore Himalaya was helpful and efficient. The standard of the teahouses on the trekking route chosen by the guide was, generally speaking, good. We were very happy with our trekking guide and porter: They were professional, skilled and very nice people, and we enjoyed being in their company. They were able to depart from the schedule and organise a trek back to Pokhara instead of the scheduled flight from Jomoson when the weather turned out to be too bad for flying in the mountains without long delays. Although we had to deal with some landslides on the route, we felt safe in their presence all the time.
We have been very happy with the trek and our stay in Nepal in general. We have been very happy to have Mr.Krishna Prasad Tiwari and Mr.Yalamber as our guides! The New Annapurna Lodge in Kagbeni was very good. Overall the accommodation and meals during our trek was very good.”
Tibet was a fantastic experience and we received excellent service from your Tibetan agents. The driver was also quite good.
Everything was taken care off. Experienced and very friendly staff. We felt safe every moment with guide and staff. So, it was an experience we’ll never forget. We’ll recommend you to Lonely planet.
“The meeting and handling was very friendly and professional. I loved the garland of flowers as a welcome greeting. The itinerary was just as what I wanted- just right. Overall , an amazing tour and excellent customer service!”
Being back for two weeks in Belgium, after another splendid Himalaya trek in Nepal. I wanted to thank you for the great job you have done, in the difficult days in the beginning of October. The Tsum trekking was great, but still we are thinking what it would have been like up there in Dolpo. After reading so many books about the Cristal mountain and his surroundings we are still hoping to get there once… I prefer next May for the new Dolpo trekking.
We were very pleased with the trip, primarily because the guide was very friendly and helpful. He handled the logistics quite well. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and the culture.
Area: Tibet – Bandipur & Chitwan Tour
The service of the staff was excellent. The lodges in Bardia and Pokhara were excellent, and their staffs also, especially in Bardia (very, very good). Hotel Dwarika in Kathmandu is a very good hotel. Our trip in Kathmandu and Bardia has been excellent. Only Pokhara was not as good as we expected, but we had a very good time, so its sure we are going to recommend this trip to our friends!
Area: Kathmandu – Bardia – Pokhara
Overall a very good tour. Excellent itinerary. Guide, drivers and staffs were very good. Vehicle was in excellent condition.
“Dear Suman,
It was an unexpected pleasure meeting you in Lhasa, I appreciated all your efforts to make this trip a great success and look forward to future travels with the professional team of Explore Himalaya.
Both the Nepalese crew with Nyima in charge and the Tibetan crew with Penba overseeing the various arrangements were excellent. There isn’t one critical comment I could make on any level and the service was always Five Star. On top of the expert ground support the skies stayed clear the entire time and everyone stayed healthy with no real problems getting the group over the Drolma La.
Your complimentary dinner at the Du Ghood on the last evening was a very thoughtful gesture and much enjoyed by all, a finishing touch to an amazing journey. A million thanks for making our 2006 Tibet trip a memorable experience of a lifetime
With Best Regards, “
Thank you so so much, for a fantastic Tibetan trip. My Everest dream came true, once again thanks to you guys. All was wonderful. I will tell my friends to contact you when they travel to China, Tibet, and/or Nepal.
Area: Tibet Overland Tour
The trek was adapted by our tour guide to help suit our group, so the best outcome for all of us could be achieved. Great guide and Great Sherpas were always with better plans. The adjustment of itinerary to suit one more group was an excellent job as we had more fun. Meals were always good. Hotels were far better than we expected, considering the locations.
Meeting and handling was welcoming and efficient. I felt great. My guide was very well known with the mountains in the region. I especially enjoyed spotting birds during the trek. As I twisted my knees during the trek, I was very slow since then. Despite of my slow pace, my guide without any hesitation coped with my pace.
Hotels and meals during the trek were excellent and very delicious respectively. The hotels in the city, I stayed in; Annapurna Fishtail had exceptionally fine services. Fishtail is one of my favorites after the trip. Hope to stay there again. The transportation facility was great. The itinerary was very good. I enjoyed it, but days seemed to be much longer than four hours that I asked for. Probably, my injury and other things made them longer.
The sceneries and the landscapes during High Passes Trek where we also had an opportunity to meet kind local people and the wildlife activities at Chitwan are the best memories of this Holiday. The service of Explore Himalaya was very good; the staffs were very helpful, guide was excellent and the hotels we stayed in were great…
Elephant rides in the jungle of Chitwan National Park and visit to the outstanding Bhaktapur Durbar Square with such excellent guides are the best memories of our trip to Nepal. The service of Explore Himalaya is excellent. Every time our Tour Officer turned up on time and he was very helpful. Dwarika’s Hotel, the hotel we stayed in Kathmandu was outstanding with superb staffs. Guides were very knowledgeable and articulate. Nothing bothered us throughout our trip in Nepal. We would fully recommend Explore Himalaya to all the travelers planning to visit Nepal.
Gina Lee and I were thrilled with how smoothly everything went. We saw and learned much, and we marveled at the natural beauty of the places we visited.
We work with the motto "Tourism for Development". Explore Himalaya Community Service Project was conceived to empower underprivileged segments of Nepal.
