Short trek at the foothills of Annapurna-Poonhill Trek.

Poonhill 3190m is an exotic location which is the most frequent trodden trekking trial of Nepal. The soft trekking adventure offers the diverse and charismatic treasures of nature and culture throughout the course. Poonhill itself is a view-point worthwhile to watch the gigantic and striking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Fishtail and so many other Himalayan giants dominating the sky in the region.

This spring Ms. Karin Jakobsen and Mr. Nils Jensen through our exclusive country partner Kipling Travel enjoyed the most delightful vacation during the Poonhill Trek. During the 10 days trip from April 18 to 27, 2013, apart from the Poonhill Trek they also allotted the time for brief sightseeing tour of Kathmandu and the luxurious mountain flight.

This low elevation trek- Poonhill trek,  is wall-to-wall with panoramic Himalayan views along the pleasant tropical vegetation and the best cultural exhibition of Gurung ethnics at the Annapurna foothills which is specially designed for the cultural aficionados during the trek like Ms. Jakobsen and Mr. Jensen. Their itinerary had the enough time slotted in the traditional villages for the cultural outlook. Every campsite on the trek was full of life; the visitors joined the crew and the villagers and made the merriment getting involved in the activities like dancing, singing and playing. As they visited the local schools and market they were privileged to witness the cultural horizon at these places differing a lot to the built-up cities of Nepal. During the trek they hiked through the magnificent oak and rhododendron forests as they were ascending higher to the alpine meadows that gave the stunning views of the Annapurna Range. The conclusion of the trek made them the admirers of the nature. The places they visited during the Poonhill trek will long last in their memories.

Happy Explorers

We went to different tops like Chhukung Ri, Kalapattar and Gokyo Ri. We were a lot high in the mountains and the experience was wonderful.
