The results for School Leaving Certificate exams that was held a couple of months ago are out.  Among the many jubilant Nepalese students who have passed out with flying colours, is Patan’s  Kumari( Living Goddess), Chanindra Bajracharya, who became the first Kumari to appear in the SLC exams before renouncing her divine status. The Kumari or Living Goddess ,who has passed her exams with distinction, had sat for her exams in her own sacred chamber. Although enrolled at the local Bhasara Secondary School of Lalitpur, she never attended formal classes.Tutors used to come to her house to guide her. It is indeed impressive that she has passed out with distinction, more then 80 per cent aggregate. She has expressed an interest in taking up  Management studies as well as learning the Newari script and computer science.

Happy Explorers

I look forward to working with your team on future treks when I am able to return to Nepal - perhaps as September 2010 with my wife.
