Flying to Kathmandu along the northern border of Nepal on a clear day is itself an exciting and memorable experience as exotic panoramic view of snow-capped Himalayan peaks sprawls before you. We meet you at airport and escort you to your hotel. .
We begin our sightseeing tour with a visit to Boudhanath - the largest stupa in Nepal and a center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. The stupa is designed like a giant mandala (a representation of a Buddhist cosmos). Our next destination is Pashupatinath Temple, which is dedicated to Hindu deity Lord Shiva and is regarded as the most sacred Hindu shrine in Nepal. Here you can witness cremation ritual of Hindus at ‘Aryaghat’, the cremation area of the temple. Then you head to Patan which lies 5 km away from Kathmandu Valley on the South-East. Patan is one of the three medieval cities in Kathmandu and a destination for connoisseurs of fine arts. We take a tour of the Patan Durbar Square - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the square is the Patan Museum (originally a Malla palace), Krishna Mandir- a stone temple of Lord Krishna with its 21 spires and bas-relief art depicting scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana epics, Royal Bath or 'Tushahity' and surrounding Hindu and Buddhist temples. .
We take a 4 hrs’ drive from Kathmandu early in the morning and arrive at Trishuli. We move into our beach hut and get ready for the day’s activities. After an early lunch we go rafting in the mighty Trisuli River. We punch some rapids like Ladies Delight, Monsoon, Upset and Surprise. After returning to the camp we have a snack and in the late afternoon play beach volleyball or just relax in the camp's lounge. There is also a bar at the camp that has a simple selection of drinks. Later in the evening we enjoy a simple dinner prepared by the camp's chef. .
After breakfast we get equipped for canyoning. We walk together with our guide, approx 1½ hour, up into the hills. As we make our way to Change canyon, we pass local villages and farms. After reaching the top of the hill we enter the canyon. We walk and slide through the creek, through the dense jungle until all of a sudden we reach the top of a 35 meter waterfall! We abseil down a series of bigger waterfalls, and jump and slide in the smaller ones. This is a fantastic thrill! We have a picnic lunch on the way down the canyon. In the afternoon we return to the Beach Camp for some rest and dinner. .
Today we try out white water kayak. The level of kayaking is adjusted according to your previous experience. For the beginner the day is done as an introduction to kayaking. You start with learning basic paddling and rescue techniques. The day ends with a bit of river running. For the kayaker with previous experience we run a section of the river suitable for your level. For someone not wanting to kayak this day can also be done as a second day of rafting, there is also an option to take a rest day or go for a hike in the surroundings. .
Drive to Chitwan National Park – 3/4 hours Today we drive to Chitwan National Park! Chitwan National Park has been enlisted in natural World Heritage Site. The park offers a unique and exceptional wildlife experience, being the home to several rare species, in particular, the one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tiger, bear, wild boar, deer, bison, crocodiles etc. After lunch we visit elephant-breeding center where we meet elephant babies and learn more about our new best friends. We stay the night at the one of the lodges. .
We surrender to the pure pleasure of jungle activities. Safari excursion includes Wildlife safari, jeep safari, canoeing and bird watching. Unlike African animals, those in Chitwan tend to be rather solitary and shy, but the chances of sightseeing these are very high owing to the expertise and experiences of experienced guides. Today we continue to explore the park in jeep, and go for a few hours safari, looking for rhinos, tigers, elephants, wild boars and the masses of beautiful birds living here. In the evening we visit a cultural program. .
After delicious breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. We have two options for the next day's biking activity or bungy jumping. If we choose biking we head towards Nagarkot and if we want to bungy we head towards Dhulikhel. Nagarkot, at 2100 m is a hill resort located 30 km away from Kathmandu. From here we get breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Manaslu and Gauri Shankar. Nagarkot accommodates finest of resorts, hotels, restaurants and cafes. We will spend our night at one of the best resorts or hotels in Nagarkot. In the evening, we can catch the most magnificent sunset view. Dhulikhel (1550m) is also popular for the wonderful Himlayan vistas. Located on Arniko highway that leads to Tibet, Dhulikhel has several comfortable resorts and hotels. .
Cycling (Option 1): We get up early in the morning to catch a beautiful dawn, the golden sunlight spreading and lighting up the snowy Himalayan peaks. After a leisurely breakfast we commence our biking adventure along the leisurely trail to Dhulikhel through interesting Nepali countryside. As we approach Dhulikhel, we pass through Newari settlements, lush vegetation and rich birdlife. Dhulikhel covers a larger area than Nagarkot and houses Newari settlements in majority. En route, we can even interact with local people and get enlightened on historical and cultural aspects. On arrival at Dhulikhel we board the vehicle and drive to Kathmandu. Bungy Jumping (Option 2): We take a drive of around 2 and a half hrs towards the Tibetan border and reach 'The Last Resort' a perfect place for exciting adventures. The resort is located on top of a green river gorge and is connected to the main road by a metal suspension bridge 166 meters long and 160 meters high. Bungy jumping from here is the ultimate adrenaline rush as this is one of the longest free-falls in the world.
