Nepal-Tibet border remains closed months after the quake

The Friendship Bridge in Kodari

Araniko Highway that joins Nepal to Tibet, Autonomous Region of China reopened in September, months after the devastating quake that hit Central Nepal on April 25, 2015. The debris of the landslides triggered after the quake were cleared. However, the border town Kodari at Nepal- Tibet border is still silent because of the sealed border. The border closure has resulted the decline of travelers traveling to Tibet from Nepal.
