In order to meet Nepal Tourism Year 2011’s target of 1 million visitors to Nepal , the Nepal Government is planning to launch “Home-Stay” programs as tourism products from 17th August,2010. An added advantage for the tourist who opts for a home-stay over commercial accommodations like lodges and hotels is that, the ‘home-stay’ facility will allow the tourists to experience Nepali culture and traditions first hand. By living with a local family, he/she will get to truly experience life in Nepal. The home-stay facility will be available in both rural and urban areas.
Dolpo requires some extra logsistics and Pemba made all necessary arrangements. We also benefited. Both treks were wonderful! from having a local guide- Baba –in Mustang- as this is more of a cultural trek-his personal knowledge was useful.
We work with the motto "Tourism for Development". Explore Himalaya Community Service Project was conceived to empower underprivileged segments of Nepal.
I am an Indian citizen and I want to know more about the govenment approved home stay facilities in Nepal , both rural and urban
