Namje, a small Magar village in Dhankuta in eastern Nepal has been named one of the 12 best unheard of places by CNN. The hill top village of Namje is inaccessible by road and one has to take an arduous trek to reach it. This has kept the village largely isolated and only a handful of tourists have visited this village. Stunning views of Mt. Makalu and the low lying river valleys can be enjoyed from the village.
Other places in the ‘12 best places you’ve never heard of’ list include Lord Howe Island in Australia, Saint-Sauvant in France, Keahiakawelo in Hawaii, Verduno in Italy etc.

Dining tent was also supplied for meals. Nice detail having candle lit dinners! We stayed in one mountain hotel during pouring rain and Sanu organized it very easily.
We work with the motto "Tourism for Development". Explore Himalaya Community Service Project was conceived to empower underprivileged segments of Nepal.
Nice to see information about NAMJE on your website . It is really nice place to visit. I was there at the end of March 2012. it is good in your information sheet that the village is connected with black topped road (single lane) and only to reach top of Namje it takes 10-15 minutes walk..
