Himalayan ranges lie between Tibet and Nepal.

The conference convened on December 17, among the tourism officials of China and Nepal in Lasha, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region.

During the conference at the sixth session of the China-Nepal Tourism Joint Coordinating Committee, the officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to jointly boost tourism industry between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to promote tourism industry as well as to maintain the cooperation intact to build the infrastructures for tourism facilitation like opening-up of ports and resumption of direct passenger land transport between Lhasa and Kathmandu, capital of Nepal.

Officials from the Tibet Tourism Bureau said Tibet and Nepal are complementary in terms of tourism resources, and strengthening tourism cooperation between the two sides has great significance for mutual benefits.

Nepal has experienced a steady rise in Chinese tourists since the Himalayan country became the best tourism destination for the Chinese.
