Dough Ferris, a Corporate Sales Manager from Sydney Australia and his friends trekked to Everest Base Camp with us in Autumn. We recieved an email from him a few days ago. Here's what he had to say:
“First of all I would like to thank you for all your work in organizing our trek. From our point of view it was a fantastic and memorable experience and could only have been achieved with your work and the work of Explore Himalaya. Secondly a huge thanks to the guides you chose and the porters. Dawa, Karma and Dendy are fantastic people. They talked openly with us at all times and provided lots of information on our surroundings as well as offering suggestions and opinions along the way. They did a fantastic job in arranging the accommodation and organizing all of our meals. They have all become good friends that we will continue to stay in touch with. Thirdly a big thank you to Samundra your executive officer. In Kathmandu he was amazing and was always on time and eager to help in any way possible.. …..Our trek was nothing short of spectacular. This has been a memorable experience that was only made possible through the people at Explore Himalaya. The Everest region is an amazing place and we will be visiting again soon. “

Trek to Everest Base Camp
John Paul Van Der Woerd from Amsterdam had trekked to Kanchenjunga in 2007 with us. He returned to Nepal again this year in November, to try another challenging trek to the base of the world's fifth highest mountain Mt. Makalu at 8475m. Though it was a difficult and challenging trek, John along with three other members were able to complete it. Here we have his testimonial:
"The trek was beautiful but very hard. Tour guide & staff were very professional, helpful and very friendly. We had a great cook (Meg Bahadur) and kitchen team. They prepared meals which were healthy and varied a lot. Camping sites were very good and chosen carefully and camping equipments (tents etc) were excellent. The overland transfers were very good and the people were very helpful . The last four days in the Arun Valley (Balung, Phukuwa & Bamling) proved to be difficult as the trail was quite old. But after we crossed the river, we picked up a better trail and everybody was happy again!
We would like to stress that Explore Himalaya is a very professional and well equipped organization. Along the way we met two other groups who had to return before reaching Makalu, because of bad equipments (leaky tents) and badly equipped porters. With Explore Himalaya everything was excellent and because of them we were able to obtain our goal. Dhanyabaad!!”

Makalu Base Camp Trek
Every once in a while we receive thank-you notes and e-mails from happy and satisfied clients for making their trips memorable (in a good way!:-)). Here are some comments we received from clients who went on a trekking expedition to Yala Peak, Langtang region in October 2011.
"…I was with Trapp Lewis and his group on the trek to Langtang and Yala.
I just wanted to let you know that the trip went very well. Due to snow conditions we could not push up to Yala peak itself which was a shame. However, we had a great time and really enjoyed the trekking and also the climbing/mountaineering instruction which we got. We were very impressed by Nima, Dayula, Asha and Dawa who all took very good care of us and also taught us a lot about mountains etc. It was a very well organized trip. Samudra’s help in Kathmandu was also much appreciated by all of us.
We are all looking forward to our next trip to Nepal.
Many thanks and best wishes."
Herbie Dayal, Middlesex, UK
" I echo herbie's comments and most appreciate the obvious work by you and your team in making our trek a most enjoyable one even despite the many changes. All the best…"
