MERA PEAK CLIMBING – TEA HOUSE

Posted May 2nd, 2012 under Testimonial, Trip Report,

A special Mera Peak package based on tea-house trek was organized by Explore Himalaya with 5 participants in April 2012. This was actually an experiment to provide the budget friendly trek to our valuable customer and also for the tea-house owner by bringing in business up to Mera peak base camp. From base camp, our team of Sherpa was stationed throughout with food, equipments and other gears to support the climber.
All the participants of this trip were happy with the service of our supporting staff and tea-house owner. Sadly, at that time, due to heavy snowfall around 4 feet from Chutunga, none of the participants summit the peak. Our one participant’s reached the altitude of 6200m, unfortunately his plastic boot broke and had to return back to the base camp.

All in all, they were satisfied with their accomplishment !

We, Explore Himalaya organized a trek to the ‘Gokyo, Kala Patthar & Everest Base Camp’ for Lisa Breece from USA. Our experienced and knowledgeable guide took a very good care of her and completed her trek without any difficulty.

She had arrived Kathmandu on 22nd March and before flying to Lukla to start her trek, we organize a sightseeing tour to cultural and historical places of Kathmandu. She trekked thru the different places of Everest region before ascent the Gokyo Ri and crossing Cho La pass of 5300 m. Ultimately, she reached on her destination- Kala Patter and the foot of the Everest which was memorable for her.

Although, she was the single lady to do this trip, she felt very safe and comfortable with us. She was pleased with the level of our service and was grateful to the guide for making everything easy and Explore Himalaya for arranging everything in a nice way.
