Canadian International School Group from Hong Kong Visits Nepal

Posted Aug 5th, 2010 under Company News, Trip Report,

A group of 34 students and teachers from Canadian International School, Hong Kong visited Nepal on November 2009. Explore Himalaya had the opportunity to organize the group’s trip and trek .
After arriving in Kathmandu, the students and teachers were driven to Pokhara. En route they enjoyed rafting on the rapids of Trishuli. After getting soaked in the wild rapids , the group headed towards Bijaypur where a trekking adventure awaited them. From Bijaypur they walked to Kalikasthan, the starting point of the Royal Trek,a soft grade trek. The trek is so named as Prince Charles and his entourage trekked on the same route in the eighties. Following their guide, the youngsters and teachers  from Canadian International School hiked past terraced farmlands,Gurung villages and magnificent scenery, with the Annapurna range, Machapuchhre [Fishtail peak] and the Langtang mountains rearing in the background. After trekking for four delightful days the group’s trek came to its finale at Begnas Lake.
But this was not the end of their trip. To make it more memorable, Explore Himalaya  organized a visit to a vocational training centre in Pokhara, Jyoti Vocational Training Centre, which imparts vocational training and skills to destitute children and orphans. The students were given a warm welcome by the children at the centre.
Posted below are some pictures taken during their visit at the vocational training centre.
