As part of the ongoing 8th Fewa New Year Festival 2011 in Pokhara, the Western Regional Hotel Association organized a special marathon for the tourists visiting Pokhara. The race was held on 13th April and had more than 50 participants. Amir Alfie from Israel was the first to complete the race while Franz Sebrechts from Belgium came second followed by Ganda Nesh in the third place. Prizes for the winners included free air tickets (Pokhara to Kathmandu), Paragliding Flight ticket etc.
The five- day long Fewa New Year Festival 2011 has been organized by the Western Regional Hotel Association on the banks of Fewa Lake to promote tourism in Pokhara.
