HATT(Himalaya Academy of Travel & Tourism) and Explore Himalaya jointly conducted a Food & Beverage Service Training for trekking sherpas on 10th July, 2012. The training which lasted for two hours was held at the premises of ‘Satkar Restaurant’. Mr. Ramesh Ranjan Thapa an F&B expert and veteran in this field imparted valuable advice and tips in the above mentioned subject to five experienced climbing and trekking sherpas from Explore Himalaya. From greeting the clients to serving them meals, Mr. Thapa taught the sherpas the right mannerisms and appropriate table service. The sherpas were also taught food safety and hygiene, the use of right cutlery and tableware during the training. The names of the trainees are Nima Tamang, Namgyal Sherpa, Da Yula Sherpa, Megh Bahadur Tamang and Bagbir Tamang.

Dolpo requires some extra logsistics and Pemba made all necessary arrangements. We also benefited. Both treks were wonderful! from having a local guide- Baba –in Mustang- as this is more of a cultural trek-his personal knowledge was useful.
