Surge in Tourist Arrivals

According to statistics collected by the Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport,Kathmandu, tourist arrivals in the the month of July stood at 29,338, an increase by 26.1 percent as compared to last year’s figure.Arrivals from the South Asian region grew by 31.3 percent with Bangladesh and India posting a growth of 88.9 percent and 26.5 percent. China, a key source country for Nepali tourism industry, recorded a phenomenal growth of 104.2 percent.Likewise arrivals from Canada and US also surged by 24.9 percent and 12.8 percent respectively. Europe registered an overall positive growth of 24.6 percent.
