An all-women team from Nepal who are on a mission to climb the world’s seven summits will be attempting to scale Mt Kosciuszko in Australia this June. Their summit bid in Australia coincides with the golden jubilee anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Australia.

Mt Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, is second in their agenda, followed by Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mt Vinson Massif in Antarctica, Mt Aconcagua in South America, Mt Carstensz Pyramid in Oceania and finally Mt Denali in North America.

Everest Women 7 Summits Eco-Action‘ team comprising of 9 members ( Pujan Acharya, Shailee Basnet, Maya Gurung, Ngawang Phuti Sherpa, Nim Doma Sherpa, Asha Kumari Singh, Chunu Shrestha, Usha Bista and Pema Diki Sherpa)  have already scaled the world’s tallest peak, Mt.Everest in 2008. If they succeed they will be the first all-women’s team to scale the world’s highest 7 summits in all 7 continents.

Through their endeavors, the  team plans on spreading awareness on global warming.

My trip to the 'roof of the world' was a great adventure - right from the mysterious Potala Palace in Lhasa to the Everest Base Camp.
