Everest Skydive was organized for the first time by a UK based adventure company in partnership with Nepali company Explore Himalaya Travel & Adventure. The permit issued by the Government of Nepal to organize Everest skydive is under the name of Explore Himalaya. This is the highest ever skydive as well as the skydiving over the highest drop zone of Syangboche. The event became the first skydiving event where 50 solos and 19 tandem jumps were made by 41 skydivers from a height above Everest.
The airport and hotel transfers were excellent, as was our itinerary. The our guide in Tibet was excellent in the monasteries and towns. The driver and the condition of the vehicle was excellent.
We work with the motto "Tourism for Development". Explore Himalaya Community Service Project was conceived to empower underprivileged segments of Nepal.
Excellent post, and I would like to add the following. A successful Mount Everest summit has always been considered one of the ultimate forms of achievement. Even though K2 is a much harder mountain to climb in every respect, most of the general public does not know this. But almost all people in developed countries have heard of Mount Everest and can relate to a Mount Everest as one of the ultimate forms of achievement. When I read about the Everest Skydive 2008, this must have been one of the ultimate achievements in skydiving. Congratulations to the participants, including adventure company High & Wild from UK.
