Oct 2: The most awaited and challenging Everest Sky-dive 2008 taking place first time in Nepal is under the full course to have records for extreme adventure of the year. The sky-dive event is beginning from Friday. The divers will initiate diving tomorrow separately and the event will remain for a week if the weather remains favorable.
The Pilatus Porter aircraft, brought from Swisbogie Company, flown by the two Swiss pilots, Ruedi Isenschmid and Henri Schurch, landed in Shyangboche this morning at 10:30.

All the 69 members of Everest Skydive 2008 group from 14 countries have just arrived in Nepal. The team consists of 32 divers (solo and tandem), 22 observers and 15 crew members. The group will trek to Pheriche from where they will proceed towards Shyangboche, which is now full of sky-diving mania.

Interestingly, the divers include two world champions; diver Omar Alhegalen, USA, who has dived 15,000 times and Wendy Smith, New Zealand, who has booked space tour for 2011.

Accompanying the group are members of international news channel and film crew who are recording this event. More than three dozen of media agencies have been following to cover the event.

The event has been jointly organized by the Explore Himalaya Travel and Adventure, Kathmandu and, High & Wild, UK. There are about 700,000 sky divers all over the world.

Happy Explorers

We went to different tops like Chhukung Ri, Kalapattar and Gokyo Ri. We were a lot high in the mountains and the experience was wonderful.
