Nepal Air Sports Association recently organized the 12th Open International Paragliding Tournament in Pokhara on February 22. Previous year’s winner British pilot Jamie Messenger emerged victorious this year too, while Indian paraglider Debu Chaudhary and Swiss Sebastian finished second and third respectively. Winners in other categories included Peter Lankar (best acrobat), Bijay Dhakal (best spot landing), Milan Pariyar (best safe landing and raft boat) and Ram Raj Gautam (cross-country). A total of 119 pilots from 22 countries participated at the event. Among Nepali pilots, Yogesh Bhattarai, Khum Bahadur Gurung and Prakash Gurung grabbed the top three positions. In women’s category, Ezavela of Germany, Alina Motta of Finland and Trisha Shrestha of Nepal claimed the top three positions.
