June 2009   Explore Himalaya Travel & Adventure

Greetings from Nepal!

This spring Explore Himalaya arranged the logistics for three major expedition groups: CAVAPLAND Kanchenjunga Expedition, Lhakpa Ri  Expedition and Altitude Junkies Everest Expedition. This month’s highlights include interviews with members of CAVAPLAND Kanchenjunga Expedition 2009 and Lhakpa Ri Expedition.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

Tukuche Peak

Tukuche Peak (6920m) Expedition – 25 days

Mt. Tukuche is a spectacular peak situated in front of Dhaulagiri 1 and the Annapurna range. Tukuche was first climbed by a Swiss team in 1969. Due to its remote location, the area is seldom visited by commercial trekking groups. As far as risk factor is concerned, the expedition to Tukuche Peak is regarded as ‘low risk’.

TESTIMONIALS

EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
"Very good help upon arrival at the airport. but it would be good to mention that foreign cash is required for the visa at the airport. The service of the supporting staff was excellent. Our trek guide Nima was wonderful. His experience and knowledge has given a lot of value to our trip. Moreover friendship and politeness from porters (Temba, Dil Kumar and Arjun) have been appreciated and wonderful. The meals were excellent. We have managed to discover new meals (momo, noodles soup, nepali tea). This helped to discover more about Nepali culture. Just one suggestion for the city tour maybe include something else than temples."
