August 2009   Explore Himalaya Travel & Adventure

Greetings from Nepal!

Government of Nepal has placed tourism on high priority in its new tourism policy to mainstream it with national development. The new budget has given priority to upgrade the existing tourism infrastructures in the country. It seems, the promotion campaigns are bearing fruit as July posted another 10% growth in tourist arrivals!

This August we are celebrating four festivals in Nepal: Janai Purnima, Gai Jatra, Krishna Ashtami and Teej. We have a special highlight on two Tibetan Festivals as well. In product highlights, we have our new Beijing to Lhasa Train Trip and Birds Watching in Nepal. Happy Reading!

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

Beijing to Lhasa Train Tour

Beijing to Lhasa by Train (6 Days)

The highlight of this trip is the journey aboard the world's highest train. Beijing, one of the ancient cities and capital of China, has been the heart and soul of Chinese politics and society throughout its long history. Take this tour and explore Beijing's ancient glory (the Great Wall of China, the Ming Tombs). Leaving Beijing you embark on a train journey to Lhasa, aboard the world's highest railway, the Qinghai-Tibet railway. As the train trundles along the high Tibetan plateau, picturesque scenes of Tibetan countryside whiz by. Owing to Tibet's high altitude the train has been equipped with oxygen-supplying equipments.
