Explore Himalaya Travel & Adventure, true to its name has never lost an opportunity to explore new grounds, to innovate new tourism products, to try out new ventures. In short, Explore Himalaya in keeping up with the spirit of adventure has blazed new trails and ventured where no one had dared to, as is clear from the following projects that Explore Himalaya has handled since its inception.
RacingThePlanet : Nepal 2011
Explore Himalaya handled RacingThePlanet : Nepal 2011, an international high endurance footrace held in the Annapurna Region 20th to 26th November, 2011. The official organizer of the event was RacingThePlanet. The race saw 213 competitors from 42 countries, plus 50 media reporters, staff and volunteers covering in the event. Nepalese volunteers and support team included 35 mountain sherpas and 9 administrative staff from Explore Himalaya.
During the race competitors had to cover a distance of 250 kilometers by foot in seven days carrying their own gear. The route skirted through some major points in the Annapurna Region - Dhampus, Chandrakot, Nayapul, Jaisithok, Khurkot, Khaniyaghat, Beni, Ghara, Ghorepani, Birethainti, Bhadaure, Bhumdi, Phortse, Pokhrelthok, Nirmalpokhari, Bharatpokhari, Gagangauda, Begnas Lake, Lekhnath, and culminated at Fulbari Resort & Spa, Pokhara. Official partners of the event were Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and technology giant Intel.

Everest Skydive
In 2008 Explore Himalaya played a key role in organizing a record breaking event in the Nepal Himalyas: Everest Skydive 2008.The event was dubbed as adventure of the year and made it straight to the record books for being the first of its kind in the history of the Himalayas. Many who were involved in this event went on to create world records. This event generated worldwide attention to the remote hamlet of Shyangboche, in the Everest Himalayas where this event took place. The skydiving event held the world enthralled, as divers hurtled from above the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest, free falling for a few minutes before opening their parachute and landing on the highest drop zone in the world, Shyangboche.
Since 2008, Everest Skydive has become an annual event, organized by Explore Himalaya.
GKN Everest Mission 2007
Explore Himalaya had an opportunity to organize a high profile aviation event over the Everest in May 2007 .The project named GKN Everest Mission 2007 teamed up with the explorer Bear Grylls (host of the popular adventure series “Man Vs Wild’ on Discovery Channel) for a breathtaking Himalayan adventure: to fly a powered paraglider higher than Mount Everest. This daring feat – successfully completed on 14 May 2007 – acted as the focal point of a global challenge for GKN employees to help raise an extra $1 million for charity. This unique aerial adventure, was documented and shot on location by Planet Earth has been aired on the Discovery Channel and Channel Four. Explore Himalaya was appointed as a logistic partner in conjunction with High and Wild (UK) for the prestigious project.

Mock Marriage
This concept of holding Nepalese mock marriage among western tourists was borne out of the idea to popularize Nepali culture among them. Explore Himalaya, in partnership with an Australian travel company, Travel Directors, has been successful in planning mock marriages of more then thirty couples.
The traditional marriages are celebrated with great pomp and show and many local television companies have filmed these events for broadcast in their respective channels.
Documentary Filming by Karma Trekkers
In October 2008 Explore Himalaya organized the tour for the filming crew of Karma Trekkers, a popular Canadian television travel show. Karma Trekkers, a culture and tourism oriented program, is aired on different channels in 45 countries. Explore Himalaya organized their tour to the fascinating cultural heritage sites of Nepal for filming of their documentary on Nepal. The team comprising of three members–Kevin James Fox, Director of photography and executive producer , Damon Joseph,Show host and Chunyi Lin , Director of marketing, captured scenes in Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, Nagarkot and Dhulikhel during their week long visit.
Karma Trekkers Documentary Report
First Baden Powell Expedition & Trek - September 2007
Explore Himalaya in September 2007 organized the first expedition and trek to Lord Baden Powell Peak in the Langtang region of Nepal. The trek and expedition was undertaken by a group of scouts who had come from all over the world.
