Located just 75 km from Kathmandu, Nuwakot is one of the most central settlement in Nepal.One of the seventy- five districts in Nepal, the town has a rich history. King Prithvi Narayan Shah’s campaign for the unification of Nepal in 1744 AD began with the union of Nuwakot, which lies between Kathmandu and Gorkha.
Places of interest in Nuwakot include heritage sites like the Saat Taale Durbar, Nuwakot Bhairabee Temple and Jalpadevi Temple. The main centers of trade and commerce in the district are at Batar, Trishuli, Nuwakot, Khairinitar.
